The combat is fun, brutal and often funny, the visuals and audio are top notch and each. It does a brilliant job of feeling like a blast from the past, yet the responsive controls and cover mechanics firmly plant it in the modern age. Huntdown is an excellent retro styled action game. Some of Huntdown‘s boss battles might have elements that feel a little unfair, especially on higher difficulty levels, but it can’t be denied that it’s a great game with lots of character. The bosses are unique, anf will pose a challenge to those not watching anf thinking. Enemies are well placed, and the AI will utilize the same environmental advantages you have. The stages are short and fast paced but it doesn't detract from the fun. The rest of the overall aesthetic is a neon edged dystopian war zone. The soundtrack keeps pace with the action and would blend in smoothly with the chaotic bustle of an old arcade. This game oozes 80's arcade from its bi-directional firing to its incredible 16bit graphics and animations.
